09102010211534gradsko-2266.jpgOn the stage of „Krste Petkov Misirkov“ venue in Gradsko, the seminar themed „Introduction to the schools of Bujinkan“ took place. At this event, 25 people from the community took part, as well as students from Bujinkan Macedonia.

Under the guidance of unstructor Igor Dovezenski, with the help of his senior students, the people attending this seminar had the chance to practice basic techniques from four of the schools of Bujinkan: Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu, Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu, Koto Ryu Koppojutsu and Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu. As always, the training was hard and demanding, but in the end everyone was satisfied with what they learned. This
09102010211551gradsko_27376.jpgis especially true for the students of Bujinkan Macedonia, who feel great joy when repeating the basis of our arts, which proves that they are indeed mature as warriors – who understand the power of Kihon.

After the training session was over, the members of Bujinkan Macedonia, together with the seminar organizer Panche Kocev, visited the far famed archaeological site Stobi, where the enjoyed the rich history of our beautiful country.

Bujinkan in the kindergarten `Bambi`

06102010111046deca12.jpgAs a part of the “Week of the children” manifestation, the senior students of Bujinkan Macedonia, Marjan Proshev and Marko Opachikj, visited the kindergarten `Bambi` in Skopje, where they introduced to and entertained the youngest with the traditional martial arts.

Proshev and Opachikj first explained the children about the history of the ninja and the samurai, followed by a demonstration of a few kata from the Bujinkan Ryu-Ha.
This concluded in a short training session, where the children were taught to roll (kaiten) and fall (ukemi). All this was presented in a naive and childish way, comprehensible and fun for their age.

The training ended with answers to the many questions asked
06102010111040deca11.jpgby the children, about ninja and samurai.

With this, our dojo made it`s contribution towards making the “Week of the children” better, and we remain to stay open towards any kind of help needed about the children of this country which are it`s future, as well as any vulnerable categories of this society.

27092010010833Shugendo-2389787.jpgOut
of twelve attending students on the Path of Shugenja, yesterday all of
them successfully finished the seminar. That alone speak a lot about how
the physical and mental readiness of our students grows with each
passing year. The results from the regular training sessions, which are
hard and tiresome, do their part.

The goal was the walk the entire flow of Zhivusha river, from the
place where it enters Kriva river, all the way to its source at Mokro
lake, on the Kozjak mountain.

The predicted fourty kilometers,
soon grew to fifty, considering that we climbed the western slope of the
mountain, through a place where no visible paths exists,  but also
because of the
 27092010010808Shugendo-2389348.jpgreturn
route, which continued the way because we didn`t cut through the hills
towards Lipac. This decision cost us a few additional hours.

After the short preparations, at 8.40, the group lead by Igor Dovezenski began it`s spiritual journey.

Following the flow of Zhivusha river, we passed through Strezovce,
followed by Oblavce village. From here we entered Suv Orah village from
where we reached our goal.

Along the way, health issues presented
themselves in one of the students, but with regular breathing and
strong will, we marched onwards to the lake.

27092010010824Shugendo-2389748.jpgOnce
we reached the goal, instructor Dovezenski held a short lecture
(Seishin Tekki Kyoyo), followed by a descent to Karpinski monastery. The
students were amazed by the beauty of this Macedonian holy place, as
well as the surrounding landscapes – which we can freely say are one of
the most beautiful in the entire country.

After the short lunch (prepared from home and put inside the heavy
bags), the attendants began their journey back towards the starting
point. Arounf 22.00 hours, after almost 13 hours of uninterrupted
walking, we reached the starting point.

Taking part and
successfully finishing the Path of Shugenja means a lot. It is a way of
getting to know ourselves – our physical and mental weaknesses. This can
tell a person what parts of us we should work on more. The path of
shugenja builds our character and develops our abilities to the furthest
of limits.

This is more than a seminar. Ninpo Ikkan!

16092010021207dadas.jpgEvery year, in the last week of september, the warriors os Bujinkan Macedonia undertake the traditional Path of Shugenja seminar.

This year, the students chose to walk from the bas of mount Lipac all the way to lake Mokro. Unlike the years before, when the length was unknown, this year we are aware of how long it the road – we are supposed to walk through 40 kilometers during the day. We will visit every church and monastery on the way, as well as every other sacred place, where through meditation and prayer we shall replenish our energy. As help, we will utilize only old topographic maps and a compass.

Shugendo is an ancient Japanese method, which explores
16092010021147wf.jpgthe relation between man and nature. Literally translated, it means “The path of practice and testing”, i.e. an ascetic discipline which has the goal of self-improvement through isolating on mountains, meditating under waterfalls and cold rivers, breathing practices on hard to reach terrain, all the way to achieving impossible feats through testing the physical and mental toughness of a person. Those that practice this method, are known as Shugenja and the teaching is present event today in Japan.

The founder of this teaching is considered to be En no Gyoja, who lived near Kyoto in the 7th century AD. The other name, under which these people were known, is Yamabushi or mountain warriors. They walked the mountains on the Japanese islands, visiting and protecting the many temples in there. Some scholars believe that these people exactly, along with the exiled Chinese generals from the Tang dinasty are the founders of the Ninjutsu art.

Theme: The path of Shugenja / Spiritual journey

Date: 26th September, 2010 (Sunday)

Place: Lipac – lake Mokro

Schedule:
07.00 hours – Departure from Skopje
08.00 hours – Arrival and start of march
??.?? hours – Return to Skopje

16092010021159iug.jpgEquipment: Take everything you have, the heavier – the better (and safer).

p.s. It is not unlikely to encounter wil animals, rain, bad weather and many other unpredictable things. Everyone comes at their own risk.

* Before you enlist: Take a look around the website for more information on earlier seminars of this kind.

24082010014853upisi2387367.jpgAfter the successfully finished Ninja Summer Camp and the small vacation that came afterward, the School for classical Japanese martial arts Taiyou e no Michi / Bujinkan Macedonia continues it’s regular work.

Going on vacation (ninja summer camp)

03082010163158Kamp2010.jpg
The only month (august) when the dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia ceases to work, is used for our Ninja Summer Camp. As last year, the event will take place from the 4th to the 12th of August, during which we will equally enjoy training and vacationing.

Even though we had capacities for only 14 attendants, twice we had to reconsider and increase the capacity because of the great interest for this event – all available places were filled in just two weeks after the announcement. Finally, we decided to stop at 18 attendants. Such large interest only shows that the quality and content of this camp are at the highest level of quality.

Also, we would like to appologize to everyone we had to turn down because of the limited facilities. We simply don’t wish to lessen the quality of this wonderful event.

The Dojo located in Skopje continues it’s work beggining from the 1st of September, same time, same place. Also, anyone interested in Bujinkan Ninjutsu is welcome to become a member and start regular training.

With the start of the new semester, in the center of Skopje we plan to start another dojo, dedicated to Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, two classical Japanese samurai schools. With this, we become the only representatives of Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daitokai for the teritory of South-eastern Europe.

We wish you pleasant holidays.

We survived

26072010070708Pre2.jpgFrom a total of eight students attending this year’s Survival, seven of them “survived”. Four of these were veterans, having 4 Survival seminars behind them, while the rest were “newbies”. One of them quit during the first day,  but still, he acquired a great experience which will help him handle himself better during the crises that come up during this seminar.

The first day began standardly, with a physical training (junan undo and atemi no tanren). Afterwards, we began building a camp, followed by a strong march to a different location, where we held Kenjutsu and Shuriken keiko, which ended with oral transmission (kuden). The day ended with a training dedicated to the development of the sixth sense (haragei). As usual, sitting on the behind was forbidden during both days.
26072010070724Pre3.jpg
Those with guarding duties, made sure that everything went all right during the night.

The next day began with Kenjutsu, before even the sun rose. We greeted the first rays of the sun by training techniques with Bokken, striking and blocking the strikes of our “enemies”. Afterwards, we marched on to S’mkneno, where we regained our strength by meditating under a rock carved by a waterfall during the winter, as we do every year. We continued the practice, first taijutsu, afterwards with Bo Shuriken.

26072010070650Pre1.jpgOnce this was over, we “threw” ourselves to camp-setting duties, and cleared paths towards the southern part of the camp. With this successfully finished, once again we set off for the “Stari Lozja” location, where we cleaned and straightened up the holy cross dedicated to St. Tripun. In 13.00, during the second day, for the first time it was allowed to sit on the behind, by which we started the traditional “time-wasting”, which was used for a few short oral transmissions (kuden). At 16.00 hours, the seminar was over.

This year, it became obvious that after three Survival seminars, our veterans have no problem handling any kind of conditions or
26072010070739Pre4.jpgpressure. They almost showed no signs of fatigue for the duration of the seminar. From the beginners, Katerina D. showed great results and successfully passed her first Survival seminar. We also congratulate Dragan H. and Goran M., who unlike last year, succeeded in “surviving” this year, by which they proved that persistence always pays off in the end.

We hope that  next year, more of our students will attend this seminar and succeed in passing this test.

That day is here again... Survival!

Traditionally, as every year before, came the day when we have a chance to test our abilities and skills in practice:

Survival in the outdoors!
Two hellish days, far from civilization, without food, water (only one and a half liters for both days), clothing and hygiene items. Two days of training, meditation and bare survival.

Location: S`mkneno (26 km. to the nearest city and hospital / desert-like conditions)

Time: 24th and 25th of July, 2010

Departure: Saturday at 07.00 AM

Return: only God knows

Allowed equipment: sleeping bag, military uniform (pants and shirt), one t-shirt, cap, a pair of underwear (comfortable), one pair of socks, rope, knife, a bottle of one and a half liters (filled with water) and training weapons you can and want to bring with you.

Important: it is forbidden to have extra food, water or anything not mentioned in the list above. Before we start the seminar, each of us will be checked for these.

Most important: this seminar is meant only for tough guys and girls. The training conditions are real hard – accompanied by iron discipline. All those that do not feel psychologically and physically ready for hell and aren’t ready to kill their own ego, should not come to this seminar. Allowed water for the two days: 1.5 liters. Keep in mind that the temperature of the air can get as high as 45 degrees Celsius. It is forbidden to sit on your behind during the seminar (both days). Only three hours of sleep, training for the rest of the time.

p.s. It is forbidden to complain, make excuses and whine during the seminar.
