Jubilee celebration

13072010005008Proslava-1.jpgTo honor the occasion of 15 years since the founding of the school for classical Japanese martial arts Taiyou e no Michi / Bujinkan Macedonia, yesterday in the halls of our dojo we had a celebration which was attended by our present, as well as our former organization members.

It was wonderful to see how the students are connected  with each other and see true friendship among them. The atmosphere was great, thanks to the band made solely of dojo members.
Bujinkan Macedonia continues with it’s work. Our basic goal is still the study of Japanese martial arts, as a way to improve an individual, advance his morals, build up honest, righteous and hard-working human beings, who are ready at all times, to make themselves available for the advancement of our society and state. Improving our dedication, patience and faithfulness – all that which can make us better in the future.

In the end, we would like to thank our students which are brave enough to walk the Path. Especially big gratitude to our member Alexander V., a man who after years of being a great friend, can still surprise with his friendship. He is a great example to our younger students regarding how friendship is supposed to be made.

We’re going onward. No loose ends left.

A party celebrating the 15 years of Bujinkan Macedonia

On the 2nd of July, 1995, the school for classical martial arts Bujinkan Macedonia (Taiyou e no Michi), started it’s work. It was founded by Igor Dovezenski, the man who „brought“ the classical Japanese martial samurai and ninja arts for the first time in Macedonia. Since then, our school is the only representative of soke Masaaki Hatsumi’s Bujinkan Dojo. Recently, we’ve became a representative of Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daito Kai as well, an organization in which are studied Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu, both classical martial arts.

In this occasion, we will not write about our achievements – instead, we invite all our members, current and former, all our friends who follow our work, everyone who has ever been a part of us and enjoyed our training, to come to the party which will take place in our dojo on the 12th of July.

The celebration will start at 20.30 and last until 22.30. The cocktail will be organized by the well-known catering service „La Brusco“, who has clients in the most famous Macedonian companies. Responsible for the atmosphere are going to be musicians who are also members of our dojo.

In order to better organize this event, please do announce yourself through e-mail or one of our phone numbers.

21062010020854ono4.jpgWhat a seminar, what a training, what an atmosphere! Simply put, flawless. Two days, five training sessions, two hours each, a total of 10 hours of diving into the marvelous world of Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, in constantly changing weather conditions, sun and rain, followed by thunder and lightning.  During this seminar, we were practicing the basic kamae, cuts and blocks from this wonderful swordfighting school.
21062010020809Ono1.jpg

During the Saturday, we had three training sessions, while the rest of the day was used to build a camp and training ground. We used an old, abandoned 18th century house, overgrown with vegetation, which served us as a good hiding place from the rain and thunderstorm which we constantly heard through the entire day. During the evening, in a lovely atmosphere, we sat around the campfire, cooking (and eating) sausages and mushrooms cooked on campfire. Afterwards, all of us together, as canned sardines and stuffed in our sleeping bags, lied down in the only room of the house that was reasonably isolated, to avoid the constant raindrops falling from the attic.

21062010020825ono2.jpgDuring the Sunday, the first training was held right after sunrise. At the same time, some potatoes we’re rolling around in the campfire, which served as a tasty breakfast.
Afterwards, we headed for the other side of the mountain practicing Seishin Tekki Kyoyo (ask those that were there how).
On a lovely grass field, we held the last training session, followed again by a practice for spiritual growth through kuden

Towards the end, all the students who attended this seminar expressed their great satisfaction from the quality of it. Even though the training was tiresome and hard, the dedication to learn this ancient Japanese school for sworfighting, helped them get over every hardship this seminar introduced.

21062010020838ono3.jpgOno Ha Itto Ryu is a school of clear, fast, powerful and simple movements, which are the things that make it so efficient. Even though in the School for classical Japanese martial arts Bujinkan Macedonia primarily we study the nine schools from the Bujinkan Dojo, it is our pleasure to study this school as well. That was made possible thanks to master Antonino Certa, the only western shihan of Daito Ryu Aikibudo, who selflessly accepted the instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia – Igor Dovezenski as a student of his.
Next year, we intend to organize a seminar with sensei Certa in our country, during which we will have a chance to further develop out knowledge of this art.

07062010054803kenlipac.jpgThe school for classical Japanese martial arts Bujinkan Macedonia, on the 19th and 20th of June (2010), is organizing a seminar in the outdoors, titled Kenjutsu under the stars of Lipac.

As the title says, the seminar will be held on the top of the mountain Lipac where we will study and practice techniques of the classical Japanese swordfighting school Ono Ha Itto Ryu.

As you may already know, besides the nine schools of Bujinkan, some time ago instructor Igor Dovezenski became a representative of the Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daito Kai organization, in which two classical Japanese martial arts are studied: Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono Ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu. All this is helping us better understand the way of Koryu Bujutsu, a phenomenon which is a theme of study and practice in Bujinkan Macedonia.

The nighttime, around a campfire, will be used to practice the art of Seishin Tekki Kyoyo – the spiritual growth of the warrior. And of course, for having fun, which is an important part of each event we organize.

Date: 19/20 of June, 2010

Place: under the start of the mountain Lipac

Equipment: a tent, sleeping bag, keiko gi, bokken, food and water.

For additional information, give us a call.

The seminar is open for everyone, regardless of style or art they practice.

If you are in need of equipment, feel free to call us.

The seminar will take place regardless of weather conditions.

29042010014822yumiya09.jpgOn 09.05.2010 (sunday), the school for classical martial arts Taiyou e no Michi / Bujinkan Macedonia is organizing a seminar in the outdoors with the theme Yumi Ya Jutsu (the art of using bow and arrows).

This art was mandatory to learn by the Japanese bushi (warriors) and was one of the most important up until the emergence of firearms (Tetupo). The use of bow and arrows remained popular after the 17th century as well, but during this period more in the lines of spiritual growth of the samurai. On the other hand, with the shinobi warriors, this weapon retained it’s practical usage because of it’s ease of creation and silence of usage.

During this seminar the ways to create bow and arrows will be studied, as well as the postures for shooting them. Besides that, the students will have the opportunity to learn what strategy to use in different situations.

On this seminar, we will study a new body posture (kamae) for shooting, as well as shooting with a crossbow.

26042010010521Bojuts-3.jpgThere’s only one way to become good in martial arts. And that is by repeating every learned technique at least a thousand times. We at Bujinkan Macedonia know that for a long time and therefore yesterday’s seminar strictly adhered to that principle.

The seminar began with a good long march towards the place meant for practice.
We climbed uphill quickly, passing through dense bushes and forest. The spring always awakens the wild and sleeping world, so on the way we encountered two snakes – one of them poisonous. We also stumbled upon a huge ant nest, filled with eggs, which we used to have a little rest from the road.

26042010010454Bojuts-2.jpgDuring the seminar, all rokushaku bo body postures were studied (kamae no kata), as well as many strikes from them. Afterwards, we moved on to blocking, striking from a sitting stance and rolling with the bo.

As always, the seminars in nature are a great opportunity to enhance the physical condition and also to learn new nature survival techniques.

Everyone that has ever attended these seminars with instructor Igor Dovezenski, remember his lessons and teachings about how nature can be used to it’s maximum for our benefit – in case we need a hideout, or if for whatever reason we’re forced to survive in it’s surroundings.
