Even though this seminar was initially announced as an outdoor one, it was held in the Hombu Dojo of the School for martial arts Taiyou e no Michi.

The reason for this was the rain during the day and the danger of having our katana used for training wet and damaged by rust.

During the seminar, the students had the opportunity of learning three ways of drawing the samurai sword (nuki uchi), as well as four ways of cleaning the sword during combat (chiburui).

Additionally, we trained ways of striking with the katana as well as nine combat scenarios (kata).

On this seminar, shidoshi Igor Dovezenski tried his best to transmit all of the secrets of quick and efficient sword drawing and using the same moving to strike. The students showed great amount of concentration, and their dedication added towards their full understanding of the techniques of this traditional Japanese martial art.

Nage Waza seminar held in Skopje this weekend

18022013044803Nagevza.jpgShidoshi Igor Dovezenski, held a seminar about Nage Waza (throwing techniques) yesterday.
We pass the impressions of shidoshi ho Marko Opachikj, published right after the event on our private forum:

-„I thank Sensei for holding such a great seminar and selflessly sharing his knowledge. He succeeded in satisfying every taste and it was obvious that every student enjoyed during the four hours. The tempo didn`t deflate and the wish to practice more and more was great with everyone – from shoshinsha to sempai.
The seminar ended without any injuries, and what`s most important the rolling techniques were learned in fine detail. There was everything that can be found in Nage Waza: sutemi, otoshi, kaiten and all of it wrapped-up in a couple of hours which passed real fast.
The beginners that had the opportunity of participating in this seminar saw how proper training is done and see where their own knowledge stands. I consider this was a great motivation for them to continue with their hard work.“

„Means to survive in the wilderness III“ seminar held

Posted on Categories Home

28012013045434fiaj.jpgFar away from the city noise, with temperatures under the zero, and in conditions of snow, the winter ninja training „Means to survive in the wilderness“ was held yesterday.

During the eight hours, as much as the seminar lasted, the instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia selflessly shared his knowledge with the participants of the seminar.

The seminar started with lessons about the techniques for building a shelter with materials that the nature provides and with no required tools or bonding material whatsoever.

After those, techniques for setting up a fire in winter conditions and moving it to another location were practiced.

Following this, there was a teaching about the psychology of survival and giving first aid to persons who entered hypothermia or are freezing.

The techniques for sharpening a knife, crafting a weapon, using different knots of the rope, setting up traps weren’t left out, but also the lessons for proving food and water were taught too.

From all planned program of this seminar, the instructor did not succeeded to share the techniques of call for aid (SOS), because of the many questions of the students, the time „flew fast“ and the night started to descend over the forest Mlaka.

Shidoshi Dovezenski announced that the next year there is going to be a testing for the students that participated in this seminar, and they will have to show the acquired knowledge for the techniques of winter survival.
