The Winter Ninja Training – Ways of Nature Survival VIII was held

Posted on Categories Home

The warriors of Bujikan Macedonia for the eight time proved that they are masters of survival in nature, regardless of the terrain or the weather. At a temperature of zero degrees Celsius accompanied by wind and snow, the members of the dojo easily coped with the cold weather that seemed to try and test all participants in this traditional seminar.

During the Sunday the Warriors again had the opportunity to study the secrets of winter survival on hilly terrain, and for that very goal the instructor Dovezenski chose the volcanic heights of Orljak, a place ideal for these kinds of seminars. They are hills of magmatic rocks which are abundant with low vegetation, and so they are almost always subject to winds. Regardless of the brutal terrain, the participants in a short amount of time built a shelter capable of sheltering up to eight people during the night. It is interesting to note that the entire building was made without the use of artificial bindings and only with the use of natural materials.

During the seminar, shidoshi Igor Dovezenski decided to test two of his students, during which he gave them task and a scenario, according to which the needed to independently build personal shelters that would be good enough for a safe stay of a few days. Sadly, neither one of the candidates passed the high standards of the dojo, although one of them was close to achieving it, so as a reward got the opportunity to repeat the test the next year.

Finally we have to say that we are proud that in the seminar took part three members of the kids group (Kosara, Ksenija, Petar) who took part equally and shared in the responsibilities of their older compatriots and didn’t complain even once about the weather during the whole day.

Report for the year 2017

Posted on Categories Home

Last year’s Report we ended with the question: Will we be able to maintain in 2017 the epithet “most dynamic European dojo”, and at the same time we promised for the hundredth time that as long as our feet walk this Macedonian land, our love for the Japanese classical martial arts will continually rise.

About the promise there was no question that it will be fulfilled, because the Warrior’s word is worth more than anything else in the world. And about the question, we can say with pleasure that we got our answer. And we can loudly and proudly say out: We earned the epithet!!! And not only that, we have a new record!!! Besides the regular daily training, we further organized, taught and learned at exactly 38 seminars during the year!!! Simply said, during the month, at least three weekends were planed and realized as seminars.

Let’s take it piece by piece and present to You a small part of what we managed to get done this past year.

Because of the planned trip to Japan of shidoshi Igor Dovezenski in 2018, this year we decided not to organize international seminars, but to instead visit a few of them. So, in May, the instructor Dovezenski together with his assistant Opachikj, took part in a three day seminar in the Italian capital – Rome. At the seminar lectured by our teacher for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu, the shihan Antonino Certa, during which he transferred to us some new techniques from the fourth catalog of this ancient samurai tradition. In December, shidoshi Dovezenski left for Belgrade (Serbia) where he took part in a special seminar with the renowned instructor Mario Topolshek. During the seminar, Topolshek taught different techniques of breathing, energy stimulation through movement, also ways of energy canalization, and techniques of acupressure. As for the seminars during which taught the instructor Dovezenski, the list goes like this: ten seminars for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu, six of which in the Hombu and four in Skopje. Seven single day ones, also nine intensive Ninjutsu seminars in the Hombu. Ten in nature, of which two were completely new: “The longest Day” and “10.000 b.c.”

Besides all these events, worth mentioning are: The Leader of Bujinkan Macedonia awarded shidoshi-ho Zoran Todorovski and shidoshi-ho Marko Opachikj with the “Genin” bronze medal as recognition for their ten years of regular training in the dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia; the first “Ninja Kids Camp” will now be regularly held for our youngest members; during this December’s testing we got two new holders of the brown belt (1 kyu – Mihail Drakalski and Taki Gakovski ).

Also mentioned must be the greatest event which during the years has gained a legendary status, and that is our far known “Ninja Summer Camp”, during which the instructor Dovezenski, among other arts taught Kajutsu. At the same time Dovezenski promised that during every camp he will teach a secret ninja technique from the school of Togakure ryu. As for public appearances in the media, this year Dovezenski was again interviewed by the highest visited business portal in Macedonia (www.bi.mk)

In the end, as every year, we send a giant thank you to all members of the Organization “Taiyou e no Michi”, and especially to our students from Bujinkan Macedonia, which with their relentless work made it possible for us to enjoy the amazing journey through the world of traditional Japanese martial traditions (Koryu Bujutsu).

We don’t promise and we don’t announce anything about 2018, because we are more than certain that whatever we promise about Ninjutsu or Bujutsu – we will realize.

Taiyou e no Michi. Legendary Dojo – harmonious family. Bujinkan Macedonia. In our blood – forever!!! Ninpo Ikkan!!!

The instructor Dovezenski at a seminar by the legendary martial artist Mario Topolsek

The instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, together with his student and member of Daito ryu Macedonia, Angel Milanov, this weekend took part in a seminar led by the legendary Balkan martial artist – Mario Topolsek. The event was held in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, and in it took part over 80 people.

Everybody who were born in the seventies of the last century, remember very well the master Topolsek. He was born 1942 in Zagreb, and is known to the public as the man who from Okinawa brought to Europe the powerful style of Karate – Uechi ryu.
Mario Topolsek also is one of the people responsible for the arrival of the Chinese arts of Chi Gong and Tai Chi Chuan in the Balkans. Also, unavoidable is the fact that he is one of the first authors of books about martial arts in the Balkans, as also the first author of a book about ninujutsu in the former Yugoslavia.
He is the founder of the European Uechi ryu Karate Federation, as also of the International Taichigong Academy with headquarters on Prague (Czech Republic).

Its exactly because of these accomplishments, but mostly because of the books he grew up with in his childhood and who left a strong imprint, Dovezenski traveled to Belgrade as the only foreigner on the seminar and paid his respects to the man who left an eternal mark in the development of many generations of Budokas who were born at that time. As they were parting, Topolsek gifted Dovezenaski with the last book he had written.

We also need to say that during the seminar Topolsek taught different kinds of breathing techniques, techniques of stimulating energy through different movements, and afterwards ways of channeling energy, and also techniques of acupressure. All that knowledge will be used and forever kept as something precious that should further be passed to future generations.

The members of our dojo, as some of our friends who wished to learn how to help themselves and others, took part in today’s new edition of Shinobi Taiso.

Instructor Igor Dovezenski advertised this seminar as such, because besides the basic techniques of Junan Taiso, for the first time he publicly demonstrated techniques from Ki Undo ( the third level of Shinobi Taiso ).

The participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the areas of acupuncture points, Japanese massage, as also skeleton manipulation with the goal of correcting the imbalances brought upon by incorrect body posture.
Beside this repeated were the already well known exercises for restoring balance of the muscles.

This was another wonderful day filled with a lot of love, knowledge and positive atmosphere in the dojo.

Yesterday in the Skopje dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, the instructor Igor Dovezenski held a seminar on the topic of “Kurai Dori” which means the taking of defensive postures in the traditional Japanese ninja school of Koto ryu Koppojutsu.

During the event, shidoshi Dovezenski explained in detail all five postures which are used in Koto ryu, as also the basic techniques of Kurai Dori.

The seminar: “Knife Defense and Combat” has been held

Posted on Categories Home

Under the leadership of the leader of Bujinkan Macedonia, today in the Skopje dojo the seminar for knife defense and combat was held.
Shidoshi Igor Dovezenski, for whom this was the 419th seminar which he has taught at, as always selflessly shared his great knowledge with his students which truly enjoyed every moment of the event.

Immediately after the seminar, shidoshi ho Marko Opacik shared his impressions on the internet Forum of the dojo, which we integrally show to you.

“This was the 30th seminar this year for ‘Taiyou e no Michi’ and I have to say that today we managed to topple the record from last year when we all in all realized 29. But do you know in which way we toppled that record?
Sensei firstly explained which are the most common attacks, but also how to defend from the same. He taught us a lot of nit bits about psychology, and as I said the techniques were deconstructed down to the smallest detail. At the same he asked of the attackers to strike and cut as fast as they can, pull the knife back after the attack and strike again, with the goal of teaching us to move our body correctly and with a flow. During the seminar, many times the movements of Sensei looked like a sped up take from a Hollywood movie.

Although the dynamic was vicious, everybody was in a training mood and we weren’t mistaken to spend this rainy autumn day not lazing about at home, but in the dojo. Some of the techniques were really hard and at high level, and I have to add for those that weren’t there that for 4 hours we trained in knife defense when we also are armed with the same weapon. This was another excellent seminar and I have to say that all those that didn’t take part – missed a whole lot”.
