Going on vacation (ninja summer camp)

The only month (august) when the dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia ceases to work, is used for our Ninja Summer Camp. As last year, the event will take place from the 4th to the 12th of August, during which we will equally enjoy training and vacationing.

Even though we had capacities for only 14 attendants, twice we had to reconsider and increase the capacity because of the great interest for this event – all available places were filled in just two weeks after the announcement. Finally, we decided to stop at 18 attendants. Such large interest only shows that the quality and content of this camp are at the highest level of quality.

Also, we would like to appologize to everyone we had to turn down because of the limited facilities. We simply don’t wish to lessen the quality of this wonderful event.

The Dojo located in Skopje continues it’s work beggining from the 1st of September, same time, same place. Also, anyone interested in Bujinkan Ninjutsu is welcome to become a member and start regular training.

With the start of the new semester, in the center of Skopje we plan to start another dojo, dedicated to Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, two classical Japanese samurai schools. With this, we become the only representatives of Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daitokai for the teritory of South-eastern Europe.

We wish you pleasant holidays.

We survived

26072010070708Pre2.jpgFrom a total of eight students attending this year’s Survival, seven of them “survived”. Four of these were veterans, having 4 Survival seminars behind them, while the rest were “newbies”. One of them quit during the first day,  but still, he acquired a great experience which will help him handle himself better during the crises that come up during this seminar.

The first day began standardly, with a physical training (junan undo and atemi no tanren). Afterwards, we began building a camp, followed by a strong march to a different location, where we held Kenjutsu and Shuriken keiko, which ended with oral transmission (kuden). The day ended with a training dedicated to the development of the sixth sense (haragei). As usual, sitting on the behind was forbidden during both days.

Those with guarding duties, made sure that everything went all right during the night.

The next day began with Kenjutsu, before even the sun rose. We greeted the first rays of the sun by training techniques with Bokken, striking and blocking the strikes of our “enemies”. Afterwards, we marched on to S’mkneno, where we regained our strength by meditating under a rock carved by a waterfall during the winter, as we do every year. We continued the practice, first taijutsu, afterwards with Bo Shuriken.

26072010070650Pre1.jpgOnce this was over, we “threw” ourselves to camp-setting duties, and cleared paths towards the southern part of the camp. With this successfully finished, once again we set off for the “Stari Lozja” location, where we cleaned and straightened up the holy cross dedicated to St. Tripun. In 13.00, during the second day, for the first time it was allowed to sit on the behind, by which we started the traditional “time-wasting”, which was used for a few short oral transmissions (kuden). At 16.00 hours, the seminar was over.

This year, it became obvious that after three Survival seminars, our veterans have no problem handling any kind of conditions or
26072010070739Pre4.jpgpressure. They almost showed no signs of fatigue for the duration of the seminar. From the beginners, Katerina D. showed great results and successfully passed her first Survival seminar. We also congratulate Dragan H. and Goran M., who unlike last year, succeeded in “surviving” this year, by which they proved that persistence always pays off in the end.

We hope that  next year, more of our students will attend this seminar and succeed in passing this test.

Traditionally, as every year before, came the day when we have a chance to test our abilities and skills in practice:

Survival in the outdoors!
Two hellish days, far from civilization, without food, water (only one and a half liters for both days), clothing and hygiene items. Two days of training, meditation and bare survival.

Location: S`mkneno (26 km. to the nearest city and hospital / desert-like conditions)

Time: 24th and 25th of July, 2010

Departure: Saturday at 07.00 AM

Return: only God knows

Allowed equipment: sleeping bag, military uniform (pants and shirt), one t-shirt, cap, a pair of underwear (comfortable), one pair of socks, rope, knife, a bottle of one and a half liters (filled with water) and training weapons you can and want to bring with you.

Important: it is forbidden to have extra food, water or anything not mentioned in the list above. Before we start the seminar, each of us will be checked for these.

Most important: this seminar is meant only for tough guys and girls. The training conditions are real hard – accompanied by iron discipline. All those that do not feel psychologically and physically ready for hell and aren’t ready to kill their own ego, should not come to this seminar. Allowed water for the two days: 1.5 liters. Keep in mind that the temperature of the air can get as high as 45 degrees Celsius. It is forbidden to sit on your behind during the seminar (both days). Only three hours of sleep, training for the rest of the time.

p.s. It is forbidden to complain, make excuses and whine during the seminar.

Jubilee celebration

13072010005008Proslava-1.jpgTo honor the occasion of 15 years since the founding of the school for classical Japanese martial arts Taiyou e no Michi / Bujinkan Macedonia, yesterday in the halls of our dojo we had a celebration which was attended by our present, as well as our former organization members.

It was wonderful to see how the students are connected  with each other and see true friendship among them. The atmosphere was great, thanks to the band made solely of dojo members.
Bujinkan Macedonia continues with it’s work. Our basic goal is still the study of Japanese martial arts, as a way to improve an individual, advance his morals, build up honest, righteous and hard-working human beings, who are ready at all times, to make themselves available for the advancement of our society and state. Improving our dedication, patience and faithfulness – all that which can make us better in the future.
13072010005020Proslava2.jpg

In the end, we would like to thank our students which are brave enough to walk the Path. Especially big gratitude to our member Alexander V., a man who after years of being a great friend, can still surprise with his friendship. He is a great example to our younger students regarding how friendship is supposed to be made.

We’re going onward. No loose ends left.
