One day after the seminar on the use of the ninja net (Toami), in the Hombu of the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi” a seminar was held on the techniques of simultaneous drawing and cutting with a Japanese sword (Iaijutsu). 

Because of the rain that fell during the entire weekend, this event was held in the interior of the Dojo. 

With a wonderful atmosphere, many techniques from the school of Shinden Fudo ryu were selfishly transferred to the students by the teacher Dovezenski.

This past Saturday in the yard of the Hombu Dojo of the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi”, a seminar was held on the ways of handling a ninja net – Toami.

During the event, the members of Bujinkan Macedonia spent four hours drilling the basic techniques of throwing a net.

We must mention that the seminar was held during some very inhospitable weather that did nothing to dull the will of the participants to continue improving and expanding their knowledge.

A day after the successful completion of the Shuriken seminar in the yard of the Hombu dojo, upon the meadows of the forest of Mlaka, the legendary spear fighting seminar (Sojutsu) took place. Known as “Strength of the Yari”, this event has been continuously held for the past fourteen years and is one of the most popular ninjutsu seminars in Bujinkan Macedonia.

Besides the thundering echo of the kiais from the Warriors of “Taiyou e no Michi”, the atmosphere was enriched by the songs of the birds heralding the beginning of spring, but also the start of a new season of seminars organized by the teacher Igor Dovezenski. 

A commendation worthy achievement is the fact that this 14th edition of the seminar set a new attendance record, namely 23 people took part in it.
The next seminar at the Hombu will be on the topic of Toami (fighting using a net), and so we would like to use this occasion to humbly invite You to take part in it and come hang out with us.

The art of throwing metal blades, known as ShurikenJutsu, was the first Ninjutsu seminar held in the year 2023, at the Hombu Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia.

Nearly twenty people took part in the seminar which was held this past Saturday, and the techniques were practiced upon three different targets. 

In the evening, after the seminar was concluded, the comrades from Bujinkan Macedonia enjoyed each other’s company. Sitting next to the Hombu’s warm fireplace and playing their customary board game session.

Over twenty female participants took part in the traditional “Female self-defense workshop”, that was held this weekend at the Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia. 

During the event, all kinds of different self-defense techniques were taught, all according to well known scenarios that happen almost everyday in the urban environment. 

During the event, the teacher Igor Dovezenski insisted upon equally training in the physical and psychological self-defense techniques, so as to better prepare women against all kinds of unwanted advances, and because of that his assistant from the Dojo play the part of ruffians, all with the goal of helping the participants get a feeling of how a real life attack might feel and the emotions it might cause.

We should remind you that Bujinkan Macedonia is the first Dojo in the Republic of Macedonia that began teaching specialized self-defense techniques, geared towards women, in the year 2008 and since then has been an example of quality training for the fairer sex.

This past weekend was utilized for a Shinobi Taiso seminar, during which the teacher Igor Dovezenski taught the fourth module of the third level (Okuden), which contains the secrets of Anma (Japanese massage). 

During the event, the participants had the opportunity to learn and train in head, neck and face massage techniques, and at the same time they acquired a lot of new information on the functioning of the human body.

The next Shinobi Taiso seminar is scheduled for sometime in late spring.

Yesterday, in the area of S’mkneno in the hills of Lipac, the thirteenth “Ways of Winter Survival” seminar was held.

As all other previous winter seminars, this one also garnered a lot of attention which contributed to the continuation of this tradition.

For next year’s event, the teacher Igor Dovezenski announced the return to the forest of Mlaka, where the students shall polish their techniques of winter survival in forested areas.

This past Sunday (8th of January), at the “Custom Pub” cafe in the center of Skopje, a promotion was held for the new manga “The mission to Xilinhot”.

The comic book was authored by the leader of Bujinkan Macedonia – Igor Dovezenski, while the illustrations were done by his student, Taki Gakovski.

This is the second comic from the series titled “Takamatsu in China”, published exactly a year and a half after the first comic which was titled “The fight with Cho Shiryu”. 

The promotion was visited by several current and past students of the Dojo, and its many friends, who have been watching and supporting the work of Bujinkan Macedonia for many years now.

With 34 seminars during this past year – 2022, although far from our record of 45 seminars set in the year 2018, it is undeniable that we still hold the epithet of “Most dynamic Dojo in Europe”. Let’s see what the numbers say about the past year. The teacher Igor Dovezenski, as leader of Bujinkan Macedonia, organized and taught during 27 seminars for Ninjutsu, meaning techniques from the schools that Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei inherited from Toshitsugu Takamatsu Sensei. From them, 12 were held in the yard or inside the Hombu Dojo of “Taiyou e no Michi”, 10 were held in the Skopje dojo, three were held in nature, and two were held internationally – outside of Macedonia.   We must also mention the seminars that took place in the countries of Serbia and Turkey, where Dovezenski was invited to transfer some of his knowledge about the schools of ninjutsu, there also was the organization of an international seminar in our country, during which the leader of “Taiyou e no Michi” taught together with his friend from Turkey – Erjan Sharbat.  If we are to go into details, this year for Bujinkan Macedonia went like this : two kid’s ninja marathons, one kid’s ninja summit, three seminars in nature, one seminar for Shinobi Taiso, one workshop for female self defense, three seminars in Skopje, seven seminars at the Hombu, two team building events for companies – during which Dovezenski taught segments from some of the ninjutsu arts, one international seminar at home, two international seminars abroad, one kids and one adults summer camp. Regarding “Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo”, in 2022 we held seven seminars, of which six were for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu and one was for Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu. In addition to all of these events, we had several television and news sites do segments and interviews about us, and furthermore we participated and donated during several humanitarian drives.  We must also mention the participation of the teacher Igor Dovezenski and his daughter Kosara in the first Macedonian action film (with ninja themes) in which ninjutsu techniques were used. The movie is in its final stages and has the working title of “Kill the children first” by the director Dimitar Orovcanec, who hired the teacher Dovezenski as a fight sequence choreographer, while Kosara was a stunt woman/stunt double for the movie’s main star – Matea. Concurrently, Dovezenski had a consulting role in all the areas of the movie where Japanese martial arts were used, and he also selflessly lent some Japanese items from his personal collection, so that the movie’s production could be enriched.  What’s more, we need to mention the bronze medal “Genin” that was awarded to sempai Taki Gakovski for his ten years of tireless training as part of Bujinkan Macedonia, and the publishing of the Macedonian version of the second edition of the manga “Takamatsu in China”, this time titled “The mission to Xilinhot”. Finally, as is tradition, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the members of the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi”, and especially to the older members of Bujinkan Macedonia, who through their tireless dedication have allowed us to continue enjoying this marvelous journey through the world of the traditional Japanese martial arts.  And how about 2023?  Well, we have great plans and many announcements to make, and we promise you that we will give it our all to uphold the high standards that we have set, not only in this region, but also globally. And we will continue to consistently show our fatherland – The Republic of Macedonia – in the best possible light, wherever we may go.  Bujinkan Macedonia – One love, one family!

A day before New Year’s eve, at the Skopje Dojo of the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi”, the official testing for higher degrees of the members of Bujinkan Macedonia took place.

The official event began at 17:00, the first to be tested were the youngest members of the “Ninja Kids” section, and after came the testing for the members of the beginners and the advanced groups. 

We would like to congratulate all the students that successfully passed their tests and managed to advance to a higher degree, and we would like to especially mention the testing of Vedran Cicov, who was tested for the highest degree out of all the other candidates (he reached the third kyu). 

After the testing was completed (Shiken), at ten o’clock the New Year’s party got underway (BonenKai), which is an occasion during which all the bad and unpleasant things from the previous year are forgotten and forgiven so we can enter the new year with a clean and calm soul.
