10042011215910sfrd1.jpgThis seminar was one of those that one never forgets. Great training, beautiful blue sky, yellow sun and discipline that can only be found in a traditional dojo.

The seminar took place in the Kornishor location, on the eastern slope of mountain Lipac. We got there moving with a steady and stable rhythm. After the short introduction with the subject and training plan, instructor Igor Dovezenski started teaching.

During the entire day we studied and practiced
10042011215928sfrd2.jpga total of 21 kata. At the beginning, we practiced three kata from the first level, known as Ten no Kata: Gekkan, Setsuyaku and Musan. After each kata, instructor Dovezenski showed two henka (variations) for each of the kata shown. From the second level, Chi no Kata, we practiced Riken, Shinken and Raiken, which were later studied in detail through a few of their variations. The third level, Shizen Shigoku no Kata, was practiced through the kata: Tai Nagashi, Kobushi Nagashi and Fubatsu.

During the short brakes, the students had the possibility to learn more about the ways of finding food in the outdoors, zen meditation  as well as the differences between the customs and traditions in the Japanese and Macedonian cultures. There wasn`t a shortage on the lectures about the renown places on the Lipac mountain either, which can be found almost everywhere on the mountain –  and considering that instructor Dovezenski is an ethnologist, the students attending this seminar enjoyed listening to him

10042011215945SFRD3.jpgEven though the seminar was supposed to end around 17.00, it was extended to almost three hours more, and we arrived in Skopje at 21.00 hours. That was because we decided to visit the beautiful Beljakovski monastery towards the end of the event. Descending from the mountain, those that participated in the seminar expressed their regret – they didn`t want to return and walked the path down the mountain with sadness. Their only comment on this seminar was that there is no better training than the one done outdoors, especially when it`s on the mountain with mystical beauty – Lipac.

A successfull woman self-defense workshop

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

03042011180735rabot2.jpgTen members of the gentler sex, almost all of them members of Bujinkan Macedonia, successfully mastered the combat techniques during today`s “Female self-defense workshop“.

As already known, this event takes place every two years, and it is intended especially for girls (women) from our school, with the goal of better introducing them to the principle and way of the legendary Japanese she-warriors, known as kunoichi.

The theme of this year`s workshop was “Hidden weapons in the female purse“. Towards that goal, instructor Igor Dovezenski chose the items which are present in every woman`s purse and with each of them demonstrated three techniques. Afterwards, the girls practiced the movements among themselves, and each of them had the chance of trying it by being attacked by sempai Marjan Proshev.

Four hours passed incredibly fast, which for
03042011180721rabot1.jpgthe girls was a sign that the workshop passed in a fun atmosphere. At the end, certificates were given to those that took part, in order to give those attending a token by which they will remember this wonderful event.

As for our ladies and their readiness, we can say that their advancement in the Japanese classical martial arts is more visible and obvious with each passing year, and their capacity and talent are at a high level indeed.

During the training, as well as during the brakes, sempai Proshev and sempai Opachikj, explained the differences and similarities between these schools, as well as telling their positive experience as members of Bujinkan Macedonia.

A successfull fukiya seminar

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

20032011210319fukija765.jpgDuring exquisitely cold weather, followed by rain and strong winds, we held the fukiya seminar. The place chosen for this event, Loka, which during the entire time was surrounded by gray, wet clouds, proved to be ruthless to the warriors of Bujinkan Macedonia. For the entire length of the training, our clothes were constantly wet, and our wet feet and boots made our bodies tremble to keep their temperature at a normal level.

Compared to the other seminars teaching different weapons, the ones with fukiya were always considered to be easy in regards of physical strain, but instructor Igor Dovezenski alway forces a fast climbing rhythm on the roughest terrains.

The seminar began with a short lecture about this weapon,20032011211044fukija65.jpg
which comes from the tradition of the Togakure Ryu school, after which instructor Dovezenski taught the students the way to manufacture and use the fukiya in all kinds of battle conditions. Afterwards, there was a target practice training from several body postures (kamae). For the students, especially interesting was the message transmission technique with the darts, as well as shooting them.

All in all, this experience as every other gained in the outdoor seminars, will be of great use to our students who even in their hardest moments do not allow themselves to show weakness or self-pity. The future of Bujinkan Macedonia is guaranteed with such students.

14032011122757pedro786.jpgOn an invitation by the Tatsujin dojo in Belgrade, the instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, along with his student Marjan Proshev, took part in a seminar taught by the well known Bujinkan master, Pedro Fleitas from Spain.

The seminar with master Fleitas took place on Saturday and Sunday, while on Friday, there was a training session held by master Miguel Sanz, leader of the Madrid Dojo. With that, we were for the first time introduced to the technique of this young shihan, who is a personal student of Fleitas.

Besides the training sessions, these three days
14032011122803pedro3478.jpgwe used to see all our friends who lead or train in the dojos around the Balkan Peninsula. As always, the moments with them were pleasant, and the conversations about the years passed in friendship and training simply brought back memories.

During the seminar, shihan Pedro Fleitas held a goda (sakki test), which was successfully passed by all five candidates. We congratulate them all.

Finally, we would like to extend our gratitude to the organizer Sasha Keshikj, for the organization of this seminar.

A successful outdoor seminar – „The strength of Yari“

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

13022011224856jari37.jpgOn the location called Slepo Kolo, on the hill Orljak, the seminar titled `The strength of Yari` took place today. The event was attended by 11 members of Bujinkan Macedonia, who learned the ways of spear battle, as well as formation fighting with this weapon for the entire day.

As usual, instructor Dovezenski included the tiniest of details in the techniques, and the students practiced and mastered them. Especially interesting for them, was the formation fighting, where a group armed with swords tried to penetrate the line set by the spear-wielders. By using different techniques (kakehiki) each of these attacks were deflected, and the attackers defeated quickly. Two such formations, left a lasting impression on the students – the
13022011224914jari38.jpgso called `circle of defense` and `dangerous centipede` and they mastered them quickly.

Towards the end, each student had the chance to practice the techniques on targets (stuffed bags), by which they even better understood  the ideas and strength behind the yari (spear), as well as the importance of physical fitness during the utilization of this efficient weapon.
