Bojutsu seminar in nature

Posted on Categories Home

On sunday, the classical martial arts school Taiyou e no Michi / Bujinkan Macedonia, is organizing a seminar in nature on the theme: Bojutsu (the art of staff fighting).

This is an art which was studied in almost every classical school and was always mandatory to learn by the japanese bushi (warriors).

During the seminar, body postures, strikes and blocks will be practiced using the rokushaku bo (a staff 180cm in length). Practicing in the open allows us to feel the way the techniques and kata were performed during the Sengoku Jidai period (the civil wars in Japan), when the battles were fought in the open (on the battlefields).

Date: 25.04.2010 (sunday)

Place: Brestov Dol

Programme:
08.00 hours – departure from Skopje
09.00 hours – arrival
10.00 – 16.00 hours – theory and practice
16.30 hours – departure for Skopje

The seminar will be held no matter the weather conditions.

A great seminar with sensei Sveneric Bogsater

19042010031509sveneric.jpgWith lots of laughter and positive energy, in the spirit of Rokkon Shojo, this weekend we practiced in our dojo under the guidance of the great ninjutsu master Sveneric Bogsater. His performance and teaching were enjoyed by 40 attendants from Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis), Montenegro (Budva) and Macedonia (Skopje and Kavadarci).

The first day, we began training with a Tachi (battlefield sword), which was followed by Taijutsu techniques. His performance of the Kihon Happo techniques was impressive – he managed to tie all eight into a single kata. Afterwards, we practiced kunai techniques, an old japanese weapon, which when in Sveneric’s hands, acts like an extension of his arm.

The second day, we practiced techniques which were always a favorite in our dojo. Defense against knife. Here also, the students had a chance to see Sveneric’s quality.
After that, we moved on to hanbo techniques, which we also enjoyed.
Once again, I thank all our friends which came from abroad to study with us.
I am also thankful to the students of Bujinkan Macedonia for their support and help organizing this seminar. As always, you were amazing in every way possible.
In the end, a great thanks to sensei Sveneric, for the honor and trust he gave us and for again sharing his knowledge and experience, and mostly for the oral transmission (kuden) which I will never forget, especially in the moments which we spent on the Vodno mountain at the courtyard of the monastery of st. Panteleimon.

All the best until the next seminar.

Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu in Macedonia

Posted on Categories Home

During the period between the 19th and 28th of March, the instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, was visiting and training at his Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu (Takeda den) teacher, sensei Antonino Certa.

30032010063345daito3.jpgSensei Certa is the only gaijin (non-japanese) who in the history of these classic
samurai schools achieved the title Shihan (the highest title in these arts). He was a student of the 36th Soke, Tokimune Takeda, and later to Shigemitsu Kato as well, the successor of the Hombu Dojo of the Takeda family – Daitokan, in the city of Abashiri.
Sensei Antonino Certa is the president and chief instructor of the European Daito Ryu Aikibudo organization and also the only representative of (the japanse) Nihon Daito Ryu Aikibudo organization and teacher in charge of these schools outside Japan.

30032010063357daito4.jpgThe intensive training (which is held once a year) in the Hombu dojo of the European Daito Ryu Aikibudo organization, placed in Zerbolo (between Pavia and Vigevano), is very rigorous and demanding.
The training starts at 07.00 AM, and ends at 19.30 PM (with breaks for breakfast and lunch). During the practice, which is constantly supervised by Shihan Certa, the techniques and kata are studied in detail,
30032010063408daito5.jpgthe same ways they were done in the Daitokan dojo. The working group is a small one, consisted only of chosen students, who in order to attend this intensive training are required to have at least a 2nd Dan in any Japanese martial art or to be a member of the organization. Bruises, wounds and pain are constantly present during the training, and the life in the dojo happens on the tatami (you sleep and practice here).

30032010063320daito1.jpgThe older students of sensei Igor Dovezenski, know for a long time about his wish to study Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. That wish was finally fulfilled by being accepted as a personal student of the Shihan Antonino Certa, by which he became a representative (section) of that organization in Macedonia.

With that, in our country (as well as on the whole territory of the Balkans and South-eastern Europe), for the first time we have the possibility to study the wonderful world of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Ono ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, two classical japanese samurai schools. At first, in our section will inly be allowed students from the school of martial arts Taiyou e no Michi – Bujinkan Macedonia, an in the future, a public availability of this school is planned as well.

The name of our section for Daito Ryu Aikibudo is: Daito Macedonia Koryu Dojo, according to the wishes of our teacher, Antonino Certa.

30032010063332daito2.jpgBy opening a Daito Ryu section, we don’t intend to reduce our Bujinkan related activities. On the contrary, they always was and always will be an imperative for instructor Igor Dovezenski. Studying Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Onno ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, will only allow us to better understand classical Japanese martial arts, which are a great passion for the members of the martial arts school Taiyou e no Michi – Bujinkan Macedonia

Successfully held seminar in Kavadarci with Igor Dovezenski

Positive atmosphere,  overcrowded gym, great socializing and hard work characterized the seminar that took place this weekend in Kavadarci, under the guidance of the instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski and organized by Blagoj Tanevski.

140320101649563.jpgDuring the first day, basic punches and kicks, blocks and katas from Kurai Dori were practiced, from the classical Japanese martial school Koto Ryu Koppojutsu. The second day was reserved for the school of Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu, where besides the basics, instructor Dovezenski explained in detail the katas from Ki Gata.

The seminar had an attendance of over 50, a respectable number for Bujinkan. Half of them came from Skopje, while the rest of them were from the second Ninjutsu Dojo in Macedonia, Bujinkan Kavadarci. The great interest for this seminar speaks volumes about the quality and level of teaching of instructor Dovezenski.

The host Blagoj Tanevski, leader of Bujinkan Kavadarci, showed himself
140320101649422.jpgas a great host. The whole seminar passed flawlessly, thanks to his dedication to make the guests feel good. On Saturday, around midnight, the attendants of this seminar went to a party in the club K7, where they stayed until the early hours of the morning, but that didn not in any way affect their concentration during the next day training. It was wonderful to see how students from both clubs socialize with each other.

After the finishing of the Saturday training session, instructor Dovezenski held a ground-combat jujutsu training specially for the best UFC fighter in Macedonia (up to 73 kg), Oliver Petrovski. He is an incredibly talented competitor, who has a great fuiture ahead of him. During this session, Oliver enjoyed the techniques shown to him and mastered them in a short amount of time. Modest and
140320101649491.jpghard-working, he couldn’t wait to try the next technique, for which he was assisted by the students of Bujinkan Macedonia, Marjan Proshev and Zoran Todorovski. Afterwards, we discussed further collaboration, in order to make a better training opportunity for this Macedonian representative in UFC. Additionaly, we invite anyone who could financially support Oliver, to call Blagoj Tanevski.

What more can we say? This kind of events, these moments stay forever remembered. We eagerly wait for our next meeting with our friends in Kavadarci.

Attendance to the seminar with Kacem Zoughari in Novi Sad

22022010045245Kacem23.jpgInvited by our friend from Novi Sad, Srgjan Crnogorac, this weekend we attended a seminar with Kacem Zoughari from France. The theme of this seminar was Koto Ryu Koppojutsu and Jo Jutsu, but there were also techniques from the Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu school. Besides the instructor from Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, the seminar was attended by his uchi deshi Marjan Proshev and our friends from Bujinkan Kavadarci as well.
As it is the case with all seminars held by Kacem, our impressions are great, as was the way that he presents the schools of the Bujinkan.

In today’s issue of the most read macedonian weekly magazine, „Tea Moderna“ , was published an article dedicated to the females from Bujinkan Macedonia.

As you know, „Tea Moderna“ is a magazine dedicated to culture, art and fashion, and has a print of over 100.000 magazines sold per week. That means that at least 500.000 Macedonians will read about the Bujinkan Dojo, which is a quarter of the population in our country.

The instructor of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, through his dojo is spreading the voice of the organization led by soke Masaaki Hatsumi for 15 years and has thus far made appearances in many written and electronic media, where he always raised great interest for the Japanese classic martial arts.

24012010122451Grupnjak.jpgIn the Hombu dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, under the guidance of the instructor Igor Dovezenski, was held a seminar with the theme Gokui Ne Waza (secrets of ground fighting).
The seminar had 21 attendants, who during the two days, studied techniques of unarmed combat in a sitting and laying down positions.

24012010122508Nevaza2.jpgThe seminar began with a short theoretical introduction to the history and techniques of Ne Waza, which was soon followed by some Taiso drills, followed by studying the Atemi Kyu Sho, Ukemi Taihenjutsu and Kamae.
The second session of the first day was dedicated to Osae Waza, tehcniques for holding and controlling the opponent.

The second day, during the first session, students had the opportunity of learning six techniques of joint locks, or Kansetsu Waza as well as many variants of those techniques.
The last session of the seminar was dedicated to choking techniques or Shime Waza. Instructor Dovezenski demonstrated nine of these, as well as a few of their variations.

24012010122500Nevaza1.jpgRegardless of the pain caused by the reality of the training, also from the hardness of the parquet of our Dojo, the students (almost all of them) successfully finished the seminar, satisfied with the techniques learned during these two days.

The Ninjutsu Union Bujinkan Macedonia

announces a two-day seminar about:

Gokui Ne Waza (The secrets of groundfighting)

with the instructor Igor Dovezenski

As you may already know, in our dojo we pay great attention to the ground combat. In the schools of the Bujinkan these techniques exist in Takagi Yoshin Ryu, Shinden Fudo Ryu and Kukishinden Ryu. Many of the Takagi Yoshin Ryu kata, end with shime waza or kansetsu waza to the ground. Even though, the aforementioned techniques aren’t organized as kata, in the past every Bushi (warrior) was required to pay attention to the Ne Waza training.
We invite all martial arts enthusiasts to attend the seminar and learn more of the ninjutsu ground combat secrets. The seminar is open to everyone – regardless of level of knowledge or style.
This is an opportunity for everyone to increase their knowledge of the martial art that was centuries-long mystery even to the Japanese.
