Bujinkan Macedonia during the crisis caused by the Corona virus

Posted on Categories Home

Because of the crisis caused by the virus Corona, our Dojo as all others in our country, was forced to temporarily pause its work. Our members were given directions and suggestions on how to maintain their health and physical conditioning, and the free time that we had because of the quarantine that we were in was used for the completion of some responsibilities around the new yard in the Hombu Dojo.

As you already know, the pillar (Hombu) of Bujinkan Macedonia grew by a new 1800 m2, which will be turned into a kind of “world ninjutsu center” meaning a place that can accommodate students and those interested in the study of Ninjutsu, Bujutsu and Aikijujutsu from all over the globe.

The grounds that the instructor Dovezenski bought, are located just behind the Hombu and borders the so-called “summer dojo”. In the expanded area, the plan is to build four small houses in which our members, meaning visitors, while they train, will be able to stay together with their partners or with the members of their family. The rest will be horticulturaly groomed and turned into a pleasant space for rest and recreation.

We expect that the measures for the protection from Corona will lessen, meaning they will slowly be canceled as the virus weakens and that we can continue with the normal work and the activation of our training sessions in Skopje.

"First aid" - tips and techniques for martial artists

Posted on Categories Home

Under the tutelage of the teacher Igor Dovesenski, this Sunday in the Skopje dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia a seminar for first aid was held.

During the event, the members of the Organisation for the study of classical Japanese martial arts “Taiyou e no Michi” were taught the forms of first aid given to persons which have been hurt in car or other forms of accidents, burn victims or drowning victims, but also in cases of different sudden acute conditions dangerous to the well-being of those closes to us.

We now convey some of the impressions of sempai Vladimir Antovski.

“We are happy that Sensei held for us another one of those seminars where the other side of the martial arts is studied. The giving of first aid during injuries, accidents and other forms of misfortunes is a truly priceless skill that can save someone’s life or even save ours. We went through a few of the most important and common situations such as giving first aid during a heart attack, stroke, choking, internal and external bleeding, poisoning by fumes or food, electrocution, but also assistance during different kinds of bone fractures. The situations were broken down and explained down to the details by Sensei, who in a incredible way transferred to us his substantial knowledge”.

The first “Kids Ninja Festival” has taken place

Unlike the “Kids Ninja Marathon” , where the kids are introduced to the techniques of fighting with their body, during the “Kids Ninja Festival” the accent is put on fighting with medieval Japanese weapons.

And so, the Ninja Kids of Bujinkan Macedonia this Saturday had the opportunity to practice the myriads of techniques of using the Kusari Fundo. Shuko, and Kyoketsu Shoge.

As always, the kids during the event were in a great mood and carefully ate up every little detail that their instructors selflessly served up to their curious little souls.

The next “Kids Ninja Festival”, and at the same time the last Skopje seminar for the first semester geared towards the youngest members of our dojo, will be held in February.

Ways of Winter Survival X

Posted on Categories Home

On the beautiful and inhospitable hills of Orljak, in the harsh winter conditions, yesterday was held the tenth in a row seminar “Ways of Winter Survival”. This was also the first event for this year, and judging by the number of participants, we can say that we starter off strongly and with gusto.

Immediately after arriving on location, a heavy rain started, which quickly turned to snow. And so, besides the cold, the warriors of Bujinkan Macedonia had to fight the wet clothes that clung to their bodies.
Let’s remember that during the first five years of this seminar, the teacher Igor Dovezenski readied his students for survival during winter conditions in the forest. During the last five, he taught the techniques of winter survival in hilly terrain. And from next year on, the seminar will move to rocky and stony terrain in the region of Sm’kneno.

From the time that the dojo was first created in the year 1995, we are the leading authority in Macedonia on the topic of survival in nature. When we organized seminars dedicated to this issue, there were no documentary shows on National Geographic or on YouTube. The public had nearly no knowledge of the fact that among them lived people that were specialists on the ways of perfecting the techniques of survival in nature.

In the end, we need to mention that during yesterday’s event, our member Vladimir Antovski was tested for the first level of “winter survival”, sadly he was but a hairs length form achieving his goal (he was but one point short). Immediately upon returning to Skopje, he wrote the following:
“Today was held the jubilee, the 10-th in a row seminar “Ways of Winter Survival”. I have to say that this was one of my top experiences, and it definitely was one of the most beautiful things that have happened to me in Bujinkan Macedonia. Not that any of the other winter seminars weren’t amazing, but until you have been left alone in the unforgiving wild, that today was in her full brutal glory, you do not realize what this event actually represents.

I can say this out of my own personal experience and would like for all those who have not experienced this –not to miss it. When Sensei told me that I shall be tested, deep inside I knew that I will have to give it my all, mostly so I didn’t disappoint him. The day before the seminar I kept repeating all the things that I had learned before and which are important for survival in winter conditions and I readied myself for any challenge. I had no doubt or second thoughts on my mind. When we reached the location where my compatriots parted ways with me and Sensei told me where I should go, I was overtaken by a great sense of joy, as if I was a little child. I felt happy about being able to experience nature in its entirety – no masks, no pretending, no lies, unconditionally. All those hours spent fighting her brutality, with soaking wet clothes, legs frozen stiff, with bloodied hands from the thorns, with the chilling wind – will be forgotten. But the emotions and memories of this wonderful day will remain forever”.

Report on the year 2019

Posted on Categories Home

In the year 2018 we accidentally set an amazing record after we held 45 seminars, and to clarify what kind of an achievement this is, we will remind you that in the year there are 52 weekends. This past year (2019) that number dropped to 41 seminar and all that beside our intentions of concentrating more on the international seminars, and also the public promotion of our dojo.

Still, our love and commitment to the traditional Japanese martial arts have done their own, and so in 2019 we continue to bare the epitome of “the most dynamic dojo in Europe”.

And this is how the entire endeavor looks in numbers.

Through “Bujinkan Macedonia” the teacher Igor Dovezenski organized and taught on 28 seminars for Ninjutsu, meaning the schools that Hatsumi Sensei inherited from Toshitsugu Takamatsu Sensei. From them, 12 were in the Hombu Dojo of “Taiyou e no Michi”, nine in the Skopje dojo, five in nature, as also two international seminar outside of Macedonia.

Here we shall mention the seminars held in Switzerland and in Turkey, during which Dovezenski was invited to transfer a part of his knowledge about the schools of Ninjutsu, but also the organization of the international seminar in our country, during which the leader “Taiyou e no Michi” taught together with his friend from Germany – Pino Durante.

We have to mention the jubilee of the tenth In a row “Ways of winter survival, the sixth in a row “Life in the Wild”, then the third “10.000 years B.C.”, and the eleventh “Way of the Shugenja”. And of course, lets not forget the legendary “Summer Ninja Camp” that this year was held for the eleventh time, and also the third in a row “Kids Summer Ninja Camp”.

As for “Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo”, the numbers look like this: six intensive seminars in the Hombu Dojo, five in the Skopje dojo, one in nature, as also one international in Switzerland, where the teacher Igor Dovezesnski was invited to teach Daito ryu Aikijujutsu in the dojo Kashikavan In the city of Bil.

Beside all these events, also noteworthy are the media presentations and interviews for the national television, radio and portals, and also the multiple public demonstrations in Skopje and Gostivar. Here should be mentioned the two humanitarian workshops that “Bujinkan Macedonia” organized for the children with autism and developmental difficulties, and it is important to mention the engagement of the leader of Bujinkan Macedonia as a technical consultant in the movie “The Plaid Ninja” that was screened through the cinemas in Macedonia.

In the year 2019 we finally got two more masters in Bujinkan Macedonia, specifically Vladimir Antovski and Mihail Drakalski passed the test for shodan (master degree – first dan), while Marko Opacik passed the test for the sandan (3th dan) with which he became the first student of Dovezenski to have reached this degree.

As always, we send our warmest regards to all members of the Organization “Taiyou e no Michi”, and especially to the older members of Bujinkan Macedonia, which with their tireless work allowed us to enjoy the incredible journey through the world of the traditional Japanese martial arts (Koryu Bujutsu).

In the coming year (2020) we have big plans and announcements for many events that are yet to happen, and we promise you that we will again give it our all to keep the high standards that we have set not only in the region, but also globally. We are sure that we shall continue to show, in the best light, our fatherland – The Republic of Macedonia wherever we go.

“Taiyou e no Michi” —- One life – one Dojo.

“Bujinkan Macedonia”—- My life – my story.

“Daito ryu Macedonia” —- The myth of the Japanese samurai.

“Katori Shinto ryu Macedonia” —- A Legend yet to be discovered.

The contest took place this Sunday, and in it took part 11 kids from the dojo. During which, the best results came from Neda Stojanovic, while the second and third place were won by Viktor Markovski and Marko Popovic.

In the Skopje dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia this Saturday a seminar was held on the topic of knife fighting (Tanto Jutsu), and also unarmed defense from the same weapon (Muto Dori).

As always when the topic is about techniques with the tanto, the seminar was exciting and dynamic, and the participants had the opportunity to learn new techniques, but also to repeat those already learned.

The next seminar will in Bujinkan Macedonia has already been organized for this Sunday, on the topic of Kusari Fundo (combat with a chain weighted down with small weights).
