Non-stop rain paired with low temperatures didn’t create even the slightest need to postpone our traditional seminar for the study of winter survival techniques. After five years of gathering knowledge about survival in forest terrain, and then five years of perfecting our knowledge of survival methods in hilly areas, this year we began a new challenging chapter in our study of these techniques – survival in rocky valley terrain. With this goal in mind, we chose Smkneno, a place at the start of hills that are a part of the mountain of Lipac.
Soaking wet and freezing from the continuous rain, we successfully refreshed and realized the five primary rules for survival in winter conditions. Although for many it would be impossible, we with great ease and in a primitive manner managed to light a fire and warm ourselves around it.
Because of the (purposefully chosen) harsh terrain, this year we presented a way to build a simple and primitive hideout, called a lair.
We were overjoyed to conclude that the students were capable of adapting to any kind of terrain with growing ease. We also must commend the children of the instructor Igor Dovezenski which in a truly heroic manner, without any second thoughts weathered the low temperatures. They regularly visit nearly all seminars in nature, that are under the umbrella of Bujinkan Macedonia.
This was the first seminar for this year, and we would like to believe that everything will soon be back to normal and that we will quickly return to our work with even greater gusto.
