The Skopje Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia was too small to house all of those interested in the traditional Self-defense Workshop for Women, which was held for the 13th time by the teacher Igor Dovezenski. 

Although the first attendance quota was just 25 members of the fairer sex, the pressure put upon us by the large number of women wishing to participate, forced us to enlarge the quota threefold, until we finally had to cap the open spots at 40. We could no longer physically accept any more participants.  

During the Workshop, the teacher Dovezenski taught them the simplest techniques that they can use to defend themselves without requiring a lot of experience or training. 

Interest in the event was so large, that many of the participants in the 13th Workshop requested that another or similar event of this type be organized as soon as possible, and some of them have already decided to participate in some of the other seminars at our Hombu Dojo, which shall be starting its event’s season quite soon.

At the Skopje Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, this past Saturday, was held a Kusari Fundo (a chain with weights) seminar.

In the event participated twelve of the teacher Dovezneski’s students, all of which showed exceptional results during their training. 

The leader of Bujinkan Macedonia selflessly shared his knowledge, transferring the techniques from him to the participants, regardless of their level of knowledge.

In the forest of Mlaka, under the mountain of Lipac, today was held the 16th iteration of the traditional winter seminar titled “Ways of Winter Survival”.

In the event participated around ten members of Bujinkan Macedonia which had the opportunity to learn and practice the techniques of survival in winter conditions, and everybody that took part were happy to learn something new, namely, about how to cover a shelter using a combination of tree bark and dry grass. 

At the event’s conclusion Dovezenski cooked a wonderful meal for all the participants so that he can furthermore transfer to them some knowledge of the craft of cooking with limited supplies in rough conditions.

The year 2025 was a year of stabilization, expansion of knowledge and continuous improvement of all those things that have been built throughout the years by the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi” mainly through the work of its Dojos of Bujinkan Macedonia and Daito ryu Macedonia. Although the focus was split between the regular seminars and the continuous development of the Homby Dojo, this past year saw a satisfactory number of events, important international activities and grand achievements that further solidified the dedication of all its members. 

During this past year there were several thematic seminars at the Skopje Dojo and the Homby Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, during which the focus was on the practical use of the traditional techniques, weapons and physical bodily conditioning. The seminars for SoJutsu, KusariGama, KyoketsuShoge, Chigiriki, YumiYa, HoJutsu and the special Togakure ryu Shurikenjutsu seminar, all saw an increase in attendance and a peak in interest, which helped us all deepen our understanding of Ninjutsu. 

From our international events, we would like to single out the ninth edition of the international BuYuKai, held in Istanbul, where the leader of Bujinkan Macedonia, Igor Dovezenski, taught together with his long time friend and collaborator Erjan Sharbat. The event served to strengthen the ties and further collaboration between the Macedonian and Turkish Bujinkan dojos. 

The year 2025 saw the continuation of our summer ninja camps, both for children and adults. Both of the camps kept their signature shape, combining intensive training, work with nature and a premium given to discipline, community and tradition. Both camps managed to bring in a record number of participants, including foreign guests, which only served to solidify the international character of this event. 

From the work of the Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo, during this past year stand out our five Aikijujutsu seminars. Of which the January seminar was held on invitation by the Macedonian Aikido Federation – which was dedicated to the roots of the principles of aikido, and  the March seminar which stood out because it hosted a yudensha test (Taki Gakovski), both of which served to show our continuous success on home turf. The June, November and December seminars served to continue the work as prescribed by this school’s methodology of training. 

If we try to put it in numbers, in 2025 we managed to hold 31 seminars, of which 26 were for ninjutsu, two were the international BuYuKai, two were our ninja camps (for kids and for adults), and five seminars were dedicated  to Daito ryu Aikijujutsu. The teacher Igor Dovezenski furthermore taught during four international events in Turkey, Czech Republic, Germany and the USA. 

We would also like to mention that two of our members received the Genin medal (Todor Angelkovski and Konstantin Anastasievik), while three of our sempai passed the test for the Nidan (II dan), while one passed the test for the Yondan (IV dan). We also celebrated a jubilee – 30 years of  “Taiyou e no Michi” and Bujinkan Macedonia, which resulted in a wonderful party at the village of Dovezence. 

In closing, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the members of Bujinkan Macedonia, Daito ryu Macedonia and the Organisation “Taiyou e no Michi”, who, through their dedication, patience and continuous work, helped to make 2025 another successful chapter in our story. We can promise nothing else, but, that as long as we breathe and live – we shall always follow The Way. 

The topic for 2026 at  Bujinkan Macedonia shall be Shinden Fudo ryu DakenTaijutsu.

As is our tradition, at the end of December at Bujinkan Macedonia we hold our traditional student degree and title advancement trials, after which there comes the BonenKai – a communal party celebrating the end of another successful season of training.  

In the event participated both children from the children’s group and some of the adult members of Bujinkan Macedonia, who through their dedication, discipline and continuous work throughout the year proved that they deserved to advance their rank. Our testing process proves that systemized work, regular training sessions and respect for traditions bring continuous results. 

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the children that passed their tests, and the adults that received their new levels and titles. We would furthermore wish them continuous advancement, good health and many more years of work in the spirit of traditional ninjutsu. 

The BonenKai celebration was a wonderful opportunity to end the year on a high note surrounded by friends, thankful for all the work we have successfully put into our goals and with eyes firmly fixed on the future and all the challenges that lay ahead in our next training season.

Under the tutelage of the teacher Igor Dovezenski, today we had a wonderful seminar for Shinobi Taiso in which participated 17 people. 

The event was dedicated to working through the exercises for stretching and balancing the body from the first level (Shoden), during which Dovezesnki tried to pass on every bit of his knowledge to his students. 

When the event concluded, a promise was made that another Shonobi Taiso seminar will be held, during which all those interested will be able to study the exercises from the second level (Chuden).

This past Saturday, for the first time this year, the seminar titled Ninja Challenge – dedicated to Bujinkan Macedonia’s youngest members – was successfully held.

The event served as an early New Year’s party for the Ninja Kids, and their joy was made all the greater by the visit by our own Ninja Santa Claus – who brought his big bag of various gifts. We also managed to set an attendance record, for seminars concerning children, with 40 kids of various ages taking part in the event. 

It was quite a beautiful sight to see all of the children smiling and laughing and to know that you are a part of their limitless joy. 

The only thing remaining for our dojo now is to successfully hold the testing for higher degrees that shall take place this Thursday, and then we will take a short break for the holidays.

At the Skopje Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, today there was a seminar on the topic of rope binding during an arrest (HojoJutsu), and defense against a firearm. 

In the event around ten members from the dojo participated, and all of them showed a high proficiency in mastering the techniques. 

In the end, several of them voiced their wish for a full day seminar focused solely on HojoJutsu,  during which the teacher Dovezenski promised to show them even more techniques for binding and control using a rope.

Under the tutelage of the instructors Igor Dovezenski and Ercan Sarbat, in the city of Istanbul (Republic of Turkey), the ninth in row international BuYuKai seminar was held. 

During the event, Dovezenski taught techniques using Taijutsu and Kodachijutsu, while Sarbat taught Taijutsu and Kenjutsu.

This traditional and friendly seminar, manages to attract a lot of participants every year, and so this year the Dojo in the city upon the Bosporus was far too small to accommodate all those interested. 

Any free time that was available was given over, as is every year, to walking around and exploring the cultural heritage of, fraternizing in, and visiting many different restaurants and bars all around the city of Istanbul.

And as he did last year, so too this year, the teacher Dovezenski celebrated his birthday in the city of Istanbul in the company of his closest friends and family. 

The next jubilee BuYuKai, will be held at the Homby Dojo of “Taiyou e no Michi” in the Republic of Macedonia. We are already getting ready for what will be an event to remember.

A KusariGama seminar was held this past Sunday in the yard of the Hombu Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia. 

During the event there were around ten members from all different age groups, but all of them had the same idea – to enlarge and perfect their knowledge of the ancient Japanese art of Ninjutsu.

The teacher Igor Dovezenski selflessly shared around ten different KusariGama katas, and his students hungrily devoured the instructors’ lessons. 

This was the last seminar at the Homby dojo for the year 2025 and the next season of events begins in March of 2026.
