The sixth in a row international BuYuKai seminar was held as scheduled, this time it was held here in the Republic of Macedonia. In the event participated around thirty ninjutsu practitioners from Turkey and the host country. 

As is tradition, the BuYuKai VI’s hosts from Bujinkan Macedonia made sure that the guests from the Republic of Turkey had a full schedule, there were treated to organized visits to many great tourist attractions and archaeological sites around the Republic, so that the ancient beauty of Macedonia could be all the more appreciated. 

The leisure time was complemented by the excellent training sessions, and the next event in the series, BuYuKai VII, shall be held at the end of October in Istanbul.

Just a month after his first Musha Shugyo to Japan, the teacher Dovezenski again embarked on a similar two-week trip, this time accompanied by his daughters Kosara and Ksenija. 

During their stay, the representatives of the Macedonian Bujinkan Dojo trained with the teachers: Toshiro Nagato, Yukio Noguchi, Isamu Shiraishi, Hiroshi Nagase, Wataru Tezuka, Koji Furuta and many others. 

Having noticed the constant self-improvement and work of the teacher Dovezenski, and with recommendations from three DaiShihans, the Japanese teachers awarded Dovezesnki the rank of Judan Kugyo Happo Biken

One day after the Bow and Arrow seminar, under a heavy blanket of rain, wind and chill, the rifle marksmanship (HoJutsu) seminar was successfully held.
The goal of this seminar is to train correct body positions and methods of firing a samurai rifle, but through the use of an air rifle as a substitute.

Neither the pervading chill, nor our soaked clothes managed to dampen our spirit and our willingness to train. On the contrary, we spent our time admiring the beautiful nature surrounding us, and enjoying the time spent in the company of our dojo’s members.

In the midst of the breathtaking forests of the Mlaka region, this past Saturday, the traditional YumiYa seminar, which is dedicated to the art of using a Bow and Arrow, was held.

Although this event is mainly focused on the use of the Japanese Hankyu bow, the teacher Igor Dovezenski teaches and demands of his students to understand how to use different shooting styles using the historical bows of many other Asian nations. 

During the seminar, Dovezesnki taught shooting techniques while using an Ottoman, Hungarian or the Japanese samurai and ninja bows. 

The evening after the seminar was dedicated to the history and traditions of Japan, taught by the teacher and accompanied by photographs that he himself had made during his travels throughout the Land of the Rising Sun.

The fifteenth jubilee, in a row, of the SoJutsu seminar called “Strength of the Yari” was celebrated this past Sunday in the yard of the principle Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia. 

During this traditional event, which always attracts a large number of participants, there were people from many different age groups, and the vast canopy of the Hombu’s great walnut tree was still too small to shelter them all. 

During the seminar all the techniques, principles and kata’s of the school of Shinden Fudo ryu Dakentaijutsu were taught and drilled. While the time that the participants spent among their friends and the energy that they all shared was, as always, exemplary.

This past Saturday, in the yard of the Hombu Dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia, a seminar was held dedicated to the art of Hira Shuriken throwing. 

Sixteen members of Bujinkan Macedonia participated in this event and spent six hours perfecting their skills with the metal blades, so they could better understand this ancient ninja art. 

Some of the Dojo’s older students had the opportunity to try out some different throwing techniques using types of Shuriken that come from schools that are not part of Bujinkan’s curriculum.

Another two week long musha shugyo to Japan was undertaken this March by the teacher Igor Dovezenski. 

This time, in addition to the regular training sessions with the teachers from the Homby Dojo in the city of Noda, the journey was used to study many other different arts that stem from the rich culture and traditions of the Land of the Rising Sun.

So, besides the samurai and ninja arts, the teacher Igor Dovezenski also dedicated himself to studying the secrets of creating a Japanese zen garden, and the tea ceremony known as Chado.

Furthermore, he visited the province of Shiga or more accurately he visited the city of Koga (Koka), which is known as one of the birthplaces of Ninjutsu (the second is Iga). There Dovezenski met with members, descendants, of the Fujibayashi family whose ancestors were famous Shinobi warriors, later he also managed to visit their family’s home which is dotted with hidden false walls, tunnels and passageways that they could use to escape their enemies. 

This martial journey was also a spiritual journey for the leader of Bujinkan Macedonia, who visited several temples and gardens: Senso-Ji in Asakusa – Tokyo, then Kodai-Ji and Kiyomizu-Dera in Kyoto and finally Narita-san in the city of Narita (he also visited many other smaller Shinto and Buddhist temples throughout Japan).

Under the leadership of Taki Gakovski, who is also the teacher for the kid’s group “Ninja Kid’s”, this past Saturday saw the successful completion of the seventh “Kid’s Ninja Summit”. 

Besides the regular agility and flexibility exercises that we teach to our youngest, the kid’s were also taught several self-defense techniques. 

And, as always, the seminar was filled with laughter, joy and play.

Yesterday, at the Skopje dojo of Bujinkan Macedonia a seminar was held on the topic of Kusari Fundo (Chain with Weights).

The dynamic and battle-like atmosphere was felt only by the privileged few students that had managed to set aside a few hours of their Sunday rest, so that they could spend their time bettering themselves through the ancient Togakure ryu Ninjutsu arts. 

We can talk for hours, trying to do justice to the techniques that the teacher Igor Dovezenski taught, but, the only true way to understand and experience this one, is to take part in one of our seminars. We can only waste our breath and words trying to explain something like the feeling of training in our dojo – it has to be felt on one’s own skin.

Under the leadership of Shidoshi Ho Taki Gakovski, this past Saturday, the sixth “Kids Ninja Summit” took place. 

As is the case with all of these seminars dedicated to children, the dojo reverberated with their laughter and joy, the children have always loved this event. 

During the closing of the seminar, several of the children asked the instructor Gakovski about scheduling the next summit, which only goes to show how popular this event really is among the children.
